Top 10 WWF Superstars of 1998-1999

Note: The WWF calendar year starts the Monday Night Raw after Wrestlemania and culminates at next years Wrestlemania.

1. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin 


Steve Austin was constantly in the title picture overcoming impossible odds thrown at him by Mr. McMahon. During this calendar year he picked up wins over The Rock, Dude Love (Mick Foley), Ken Shamrock, Kane and The Undertaker. 

2. The Rock 


The Rock had a solid run as Intercontinental champion before joining Mr. McMahon's corporation upon winning the vacant WWF Title. During his run he picked up wins over Mankind (Mick Foley) and Ken Shamrock winning both IC and WWF title in the process.  

3. Mick Foley 





















The three faces of Foley had most of his success this calendar year as Mankind having won the WWF Title on multiple occasions as the deranged one. His notable wins include Shamrock, The Rock and even Stone Cold Steve Austin at one point.

4. Ken Shamrock 


Shamrock was often overlooked this year having clean wins over The Rock and being screwed out of both the IC and WWF Titles. He still managed to win the IC belt along with 1998's king of the ring tournament.

5. Val Venis 




















Val Venis made his WWF debut this year with a positive reception from the fans, This led him to get pushed to the moon by the WWF brass, which led him to win both the European and Intercontinental titles.

6. Kane 


Kane had a good win loss record this year when not being screwed over or wrestling against his kayfabe brother The Undertaker. Along with his good track record included two wins over Steve Austin, one of them earning him the WWF title.

7. The Undertaker 


The Undertaker could have been ranked higher should be have been more active. Instead he had his ministry do most of his dirty work for him. He balanced it out with wins over his kayfabe brother Kane, Mankind (Mick Foley) and Steve Austin. 

8. X-Pac 


Underdog X-Pac exceeded peoples expectations of him picking up wins over Jeff Jarrett and D'Lo Brown, winning the European title in the process and defending it a number of times. 

9. D'lo Brown 


After the nation disbanded D'lo Brown had a successful singles run as European Champion picking up wins over X-Pac and many more.  

10. Triple H 


 Triple H elevated his game with Chyna at his side helping him secure win after win. Upon betraying DX to join the corporation he won the European Title and picked up a win over Kane at Wrestlemania.
